The ÆRI5 Project

The ÆRI5 Project was a short-lived occult science ritual experiment conducted by the Occult Research Brigade of Scientists (ORBS). Little is known for certain about the project, but extant records have revealed some details of the planning and results. The ÆRI5 Project has therefore been the subject of much scholarly discussion as well as conspiracy theorizing. The most generally agreed upon details are as follows: 1. that the project was started in late 3147 by Dr. Thea Ecks-McKenna and Dr. Thaddeus the Unkempt 2. that the goal of the project was to create a bio-alchemechanical gyndroid vessel and impart into it some measure of divine essence 3. that everyone known to be directly involved in the project either died under mysterious circumstances or is missing 4. that ORBS has intentionally kept some aspects of the project from public knowledge 5. is there a mysterious and poorly understood aspect of the project that is impossible to discuss in any medium without all phrasing being in the form of a question?

Background

Some time in mid to late 3147, Dr. Ecks-McKenna, who according to records was an "up and coming young ORBS theoretical metaphysicist with doctorates in noetic mechanics and chronomancy," was working with a team of engineers on a more efficient noetic particle trap for implementation on the three etheric particle accelerators that ORBS was operating at that time, when she was approached by Dr. the Unkempt, Director of Special Projects for the Alchemy Department, about a paper she had authored on Noumenal-Noetic Particle Collection.[1] There are reports from an unnamed individual who worked for ORBS at the time that, "Dr. the Unkempt was just looking to pick her brain about whether or not N-NPC was truly possible," but that they, "spoke for about four hours that first meeting about her frameworks for binding noumenons." [2] At an unknown time before the end of 3147, Dr. Ecks-McKenna requested and was granted a transfer to Alchemy Special Projects (ASP), leaving her particle trap work to her research assistant, Dr. Landon Monk, and taking two unnamed engineers with her. The scholarly consensus is that work on the ÆRI5 Project began immediately after her transfer to ASP. [citation needed]

Project Aims

According to a partial journal that was released due to a Freedom of Incantation request and is believed to be written by Dr. the Unkempt, "The goal of the project is to implement a noumenon collection device as the intelligence core of a first of its kind bio-alchemechanical gyndroid. Such an implementation is expected to yield an incarnation of divinity on the material plane." Many parts of the journal are unreadable due to illegibility and/or unintelligibility, and a great many more still are redacted. There is a partial schematic of the gyndroid vessel included in the journal that is labeled in a hand that is different from that of the rest of the journal. These labels are in an unknown language that has yet to be deciphered, and multiple engineers interviewed by the paper that published the journal have said that the schematic has questionable implementation value, with one commenting that "some of this seems like very advanced technomancy that is centuries ahead of even our current abilities, while the rest seems like complete and utter nonsense." [3]

Independent media has uncovered a scrapped press release by ORBS that is believed to be about the project which describes how the vessel would bring about a New Galactic Order. [citation needed]

An anonymous source connected to ORBS told the Daily Ouroboros that they had obtained a transcript of a teleconference between Dr. Ecks-McKenna and Dr. the Unkempt in which Dr. Ecks-McKenna states that they will "finally be able to Immanentize the [REDACTED]." [4] Dr. Jorgan Pearson, the then current director of ASP, in an interview called the Daily Ouroboros "a lateralist rag that prints the smears and fantasies of disgruntled former employees." [5] The Daily Ouroboros responded by printing an exposé on Dr. Pearson that indranet commentary channel Booger Swap called, "a hit piece, for sure, but definitely funny." [6] [7]

Mysterious Deaths and Disappearances

Dr. Thaddeus the Unkempt was found dead in his office at ORBS Alchemical Satellite Research Facility E-8 in Rembrandt, New South Mars in 3148. The death midwife's report ruled his death a suicide, but this has been questioned by multiple sources. [7] [8] [9]

Dr. Thea Ecks-McKenna has been missing since 3148, however multiple sightings have been reported over the last forty years. According to obtained records she is still listed as employed by ORBS, but no records of current residence exist and she does not appear to have been paid since the project was shut down. She is officially listed as missing in New South Mars Inquisitorial Department records. A private inquisitor hired by her family found evidence of access to some of her indranet accounts eight years after the scrapping of the ÆRI5 Project, but the location from which this occurred proved to have had an aura of obfuscation ritual performed upon it. [1] [3] [7]

At least seventeen other individuals were working at Facility E-8 on the day the project was scrapped. All are believed to have been working  on the project in some capacity, but none of their names have been released, and investigations have turned up contradictory evidence as to the number of people present and their current whereabouts. Five unidentifiable corpses were found at the scene and no one has come forward to this day claiming to have been present or having worked on the project. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Cover-Up

ORBS has released several contradictory statements about the ÆRI5 Project. ORBS Head of Public Relations Primo Noxious stated in a press conference the day after the scrapping of the project that it had been ended due to "the untimely passing of ASP director Dr. Thadeus the Unkempt by natural causes." When asked if the project posed any risk to the public, and to clarify reports of deaths at the facility, Noxious claimed that reports of other deaths were unfounded and that no significant risk to the public was posed by such a minor project. [10]

Dr. Jorgan Pearson, in an interview one year later with Cyvos of Kotaron, called the project "untenable and ultimately too great a danger to the public at large," and called Dr. the Unkempt's death a "tragic suicide." [5]

Honest media outlets have reported that secret documents obtained by private inquisitors prove that all statements made by ORBS about the project contain obfuscated memetic triggers that are used to create a feeling of unease that causes the public to tune out any news about the project and also they proved that the whole point of the project was to subjugate the populace. [citation needed]

ORBS released a statement claiming that the five unidentified bodies at Facility E-8 were golems, which was later contradicted by testimony in the Chancellor of the Solar System's Special Inquest into the ÆRI5 Project. At the Special Inquest, representatives claimed that Dr. Ecks-McKenna was never directly employed by ORBS, instead being a private contractor. It was also claimed that she had never worked at Facility E-8.  Materials released to the press contradict these statements about Dr. Ecks-McKenna. [1] [2] [11]

Is There a Forced Interrogative?

Have you heard about the aspect of this that no one seems to be able to speak about without phrasing everything in the form of a question? Is it a mysterious memetic infection that arises from events on the day the project was scrapped? How does it actually work? How is anyone supposed to speak meaningfully about this without making statements? Is it possible that there is a thing about which there are no answers, but only questions? Are there information deficits built into certain aspects of reality? Is a forced agnostic position required in order to speak about certain things that in some sense really exist? If we asked one of those things if it was lying, what would it say? [?]
